How a Pune cab service turned searches into booked rides
Competing with ride-hailing apps is hard. Competing for airport and outstation trips, where customers want a reliable driver and a fixed fare, is a different story.
- GOAL
- More direct bookings
- Calls and WhatsApp, not app commissions
- TYPE
- Local cab operator
- Airport, outstation and local trips
- FOCUS
- Route pages
- Plus Google profile and reviews
- LEADS VIA
- Calls and WhatsApp
- Tracked from day one

The business and the problem
For short city rides, most people open an app. But for an early-morning airport drop, a family trip to Mumbai or a weekend in Lonavala, many customers search Google for a cab service they can call and book in advance.
The operator had good drivers and repeat customers, but almost no visibility for these higher-value trips. Searches went to aggregators and large travel sites.
What we did, step by step
WEEK 1
A fast website with route pages
Pages for airport transfers and the most-asked outstation routes, each with typical travel time, car options and a call and WhatsApp button.
MONTH 1
Google profile as a service-area business
The right categories, a service area covering Pune, photos of the actual cars and drivers, and clear hours for early and late trips.
MONTHS 2–3
Reviews that mention routes
After each trip, a WhatsApp review request. Reviews naturally mentioning routes like Pune to Mumbai strengthened those pages.
MONTH 3 ONWARDS
The monthly checklist
Posts for festival and holiday travel, new route pages based on real enquiries, and steady review requests.
THE KEY INSIGHT
Customers search for the trip, not the taxi
People planning a trip search for where they are going: “Pune to Mumbai cab”, “Pune airport taxi”, “Lonavala cab”. Each route is its own small market, with customers who are ready to book.
One genuinely useful page per main route, with honest details about timing and car types, let a single local operator compete for searches that a generic “cab service” page could never win.
| Search | Type |
|---|---|
| cab near me | Near me |
| pune airport taxi | Route |
| pune to mumbai cab | Route |
| pune to shirdi cab | Route |
| lonavala cab from pune | Route |
| outstation cab pune | Service |

FOR MUMBAI BUSINESSES
Three lessons that apply to your business
Mumbai has its own busy routes, from airport runs to trips to Pune and Nashik, and the same three ideas decide who gets the booking.
- 01
Don’t trust low keyword volumes
If tools show 50 searches for your service in Andheri, the real number across all the ways people search is likely many times higher.
- 02
One page per service and area
A separate, genuinely useful page for each main service and area lets you rank for the variations customers actually type.
- 03
Judge by enquiries, not rankings
A position report means little on its own. Calls, WhatsApp messages and direction requests show whether SEO is working.
