How a Pune bike repair workshop won the searches next door
A single workshop, competing with brand service centres and roadside mechanics. The goal was simple: be the first call when a rider nearby has a problem.
- GOAL
- More walk-ins and calls
- From riders within a few kilometres
- TYPE
- Single location
- Independent two-wheeler workshop
- FOCUS
- Google Maps first
- Profile, reviews, service pages
- LEADS VIA
- Calls and WhatsApp
- Tracked from day one

The business and the problem
Two-wheeler owners rarely plan a repair in advance. A puncture, a dead battery or a strange engine noise sends them to Google with “bike repair near me”, and they ride to whichever trusted workshop appears first.
The workshop had loyal regulars but little presence online. Brand service centres and directory listings took the top spots on Google Maps, even for riders who passed the workshop every day.
What we did, step by step
WEEK 1
A fast website built around services
Pages for general servicing, engine work, puncture and tyre repair, and brake and clutch work, each with a click-to-call and WhatsApp button.
MONTH 1
Google profile rebuilt
The right category, every service listed, real photos of the workshop and team, accurate hours including Sundays, and a precise map pin.
MONTHS 2–3
Reviews and listings
A WhatsApp review request after every service, replies to every review, and consistent details on directories.
MONTH 3 ONWARDS
The monthly checklist
Regular posts with offers, new photos, and page updates based on the searches customers actually used.
THE KEY INSIGHT
Riders search for the problem, the brand and the area
Bike owners describe what is wrong, name their bike, and add where they are. Each phrasing is a separate search, and together they add up to steady demand within a few kilometres.
Listing every service and the common brands worked on, on both the profile and the website, lets one workshop show up for all of these variations instead of just “bike repair”.
| Search | Type |
|---|---|
| bike repair near me | Near me |
| bike service centre near me | Near me |
| puncture repair open now | Urgent |
| royal enfield service | Brand |
| activa servicing | Brand |
| bike engine repair | Service |
THE RESULTS
What changed for the workshop
From Google Search Console for the last 3 months, shared with the owner’s permission.
FOR MUMBAI BUSINESSES
Three lessons that apply to your business
Mumbai has far more workshops per street than Pune, but the same three ideas decide who gets the call.
- 01
Don’t trust low keyword volumes
If tools show 50 searches for your service in Andheri, the real number across all the ways people search is likely many times higher.
- 02
One page per service and area
A separate, genuinely useful page for each main service and area lets you rank for the variations customers actually type.
- 03
Judge by enquiries, not rankings
A position report means little on its own. Calls, WhatsApp messages and direction requests show whether SEO is working.
